RV Road Trip Essentials

RV Road Trip Essentials

Now that Spring is here, and Summer is slowly approaching, RV road trip season is here.

RV trips are a great way to spend bonding time with your friends or family. If you or your family are lucky enough to own or rent an RV, then you probably have prior experience with RV trips. There are some essentials that every person with an RV should have as they go road tripping.

First Aid Kit

You never know what accidents may occur and it is always best to be prepared. Whether this means an accident in the kitchen of your RV or out in the wilderness, be prepared.

Hampers

A majority of individuals forget to bring along a hamper with them on their RV trip. Hampers are essential for storing clothing, laundry, and/or items laying around.

Movies

When you go on an RV trip, a majority of the time is spent on the road. Bring movies to entertain yourself and others (for hours at a time) ß(delete) so time on the road goes by quickly.

Mat

Bring a mat for the outside steps of the RV. There is no telling what the weather will be like outdoors and a mat will prevent others from getting dirt or mud tracks from getting inside the RV.

Kitchenware

Bring all the necessities to make a meal, most people often forget to bring spatulas, plates, and even cooking spray!

Dustpan & Broom Set

Pick up a portable and lightweight dustpan and broom set that can easily be stored anywhere. When you are traveling on long trips, dirt and trash are bound to make an appearance in your RV.

Water Tank Filler Valve

If you don’t have a water tank filler valve then chances are your water tank will take forever to fill due to the “bubble back”.

Portable Trash Can

A portable trash can is easier to bring on an RV trip. For one, it is more light-weight and easy to transport around than a regular trash bin. It can additionally be used as a hamper or for storage. Simply insert a drawstring trash bag and you're all set!

Earth Day 2019: Five Things You Can Do for the Planet

Earth Day 2019: Five Things You Can Do for the Planet

It is no secret that as individuals living on this Earth we must change our habits in order to keep our animals and ecosystem intact. As Earth Day (April 22, 2019) slowly approaches this year, there are a couple of things that we as individuals can do in order to do our part for the environment.

Turn Off Lights

You can help conserve energy by turning off your lights earlier or turning them on later than you’re used to. Individuals usually tend to turn on the lights when it gets dark and leave them on until they go to bed. Try to either turn your lights on an hour after it gets dark or an hour earlier than you’re used to.

Recycle

Recycling goes a long way, even if you’re not used to doing it. Even if it’s for a month, try to recycle any plastic or paper you have that you would normally throw away in a regular dumpster.

Bring Your Own Shopping Bags

Bring your own shopping bags when you go grocery or clothes shopping. In some states, grocery and clothing stores still give out plastic shopping bags with your merchandise. However, other states require that you bring your own shopping bags or they will charge you up to 10 cents per plastic bag you use. Invest in durable, reusable shopping bags that you can bring with you when you go to the grocery store or shopping.

Reusable Straws

Reusable straws are becoming more popular as people are becoming aware that plastic straws make their way into the ocean and endanger sea animals. Invest in stainless steel straws that you can take with you anywhere, such as restaurants and public places. This will prevent you from using plastic straws and reduce the amount of plastic in the environment.

Clean Up Your Neighborhood

You should help clean up your neighborhood or any surrounding areas of any trash or pollution. Check your local storm drains to see if there is any trash caught in there that could potentially make its way into the ocean. If you see a piece of trash, pick it up! It’s a good idea to carry a plastic bag around with you and collect any pieces of trash you may see in the streets. Volunteer for clean ups in your neighborhood or city.

By doing one or more of these items for even a month, you are contributing to making a difference in our environment!

How To Be A Guest At Your Own House Party

How To Be A Guest At Your Own House Party

If you are throwing a party at home, chances are you’ve got a lot of party planning to do.

Planning and executing a party are two different and very overwhelming tasks. Most party planners are left micromanaging every aspect of the party and hardly ever have time to enjoy it themselves. We’ve got the top five tips to allow party and event throwers to be able to be a guest at their own party.

1. Pick One to Two Drinks

Most party planners are often left understocked in the drink department due to the mistake they make of providing too many drink options for their guests. Party planners provide too many drinks and are left with an excess amount of one drink while being understocked with another. You want to make sure you limit their drink choices to two drinks. This ensures that guests are either sipping on one drink or the other, and you know exactly which drinks you want to be fully stocked.

2. Set Up A Portable Trash Can

As opposed to regular, bulky trash bins, a portable trash can is more effective for parties. Most party throwers are left cleaning up after guests, making sure there are no spills or dirty dishes lying around. Ordinary trash bins are often disregarded by guests and not the most aesthetically pleasing to feature in a party. This is due to their lingering smell and how dirty they often are.

A lightweight, portable trash bag holder with an open frame allows you to conveniently place several of them throughout the party and not be embarrassed by any lingering odors.

More trash bag holders allow guests to be more prone to place their garbage in the right place as opposed to you having to clean up after others.

3. Set Up Food And Drink Bar

Walking throughout the room with food for guests just makes your job harder. Set up a food bar where guests are able to help themselves to food and drinks. You want to provide a variety of food options so everyone has something to eat. Make sure your food and drink bar is fully stocked with everything your guests need in order to help themselves to food. You want to make sure there are plenty of napkins, utensils, cups, plates, and ladles for food and drinks.

The Ultimate Camping Checklist

The Ultimate Camping Checklist

Summer 2019 is slowly approaching and everyone is planning their summer activities.

One of the most fun and popular activities to do this summer is going camping. Camping allows you to spend quality time with friends or family. However, if it is your first time or you’re an experienced camper, we’ve got the ultimate camping checklist for you to be prepared.

       1. Tent - you want to make sure you’re bringing a tent or some kind of item to shelter yourself with.

       2. Sleeping bag/blankets/pillows - if you’re staying overnight, you want to make sure you come prepared with any sleeping materials. Even on hot summer days, the nights may be cool and windy.

       3. Coolers - coolers are important to bring all your drinking and food materials. Since you don’t have accessibility to heat and electricity, bringing cold food such as sandwiches, salads, or fruit is essential. You want to make sure you have a cooler with plenty of food and ice.

       4. Clothing - not many people think about the clothing they bring. This is just as important as what products and items you bring along with you.

You want to make sure you are wearing loose and airy clothing that still covers your body. Since you’re camping, you want to avoid exposing your skin to bug bites and other plants that may cause an allergic reaction.

       5. Sunscreen - even if you’re camping under trees, it is always a good idea to cover yourself with sunscreen. The sun’s rays are capable of reflecting and may cause you to have a sunburn.

       6. Tablecloth - you might not be able to bring an entire table with you camping, but you can bring a tablecloth. Bring a tablecloth where you can lay out your food items and have a picnic.

      7. Portable Trash Can - as opposed to a regular trash bin which is heavy and inconvenient to carry, a portable trash can is a better alternative. It allows you to tie your trash bag over it, and makes it easy to contain any trash you dispose of during your trip, without having to touch a dirty garbage bag.

      8. First Aid Kit - a first aid kit is essential if you’re going out into the wilderness. You never know what might happen and it is always better to be safe than sorry.

      9. Sanitizing Wipes/napkins - sanitizing wipes and napkins are one of the most underrated items. Since you are camping, the chances of a sink nearby to wash items or your hands off is unlikely. Carrying sanitizing wipes and/or napkins is useful to sanitize items and prevent yourself from getting sick off bacteria.

      10. Water - you want to make sure you bring plenty of water. You will need water for drinking as well as cleaning purposes. It is always better to bring excess water and have leftover, instead of running short on water.
